For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. -Jeremiah 29:11

March Madness!!! 3/2/2010
I just wanted to let you all know what's going on and what's coming up for the month of March. First, let me tell you it has been too cool getting to know you all this past month! I'm really looking forward to reaching the city and the world through the love of Christ with YOU! God has some great things in store so hold on and get ready!
Although the deadlines to get signed up for both the Spring Mission and Summer Camp have passed, we've still got some room for more of you! If your interested and have yet to sign up, please see me ASAP! Also know that we do have scholarship funds available so don't let finances hold you back. Email or call me and we'll work out the details!
It's just 10 days until we head to Arlington where we'll be working with some inner-city kids and sharing the love of Christ. With that being said, if you have signed up or you're interested in signing up for the mission, will meet this Wednesday, March 3rd at 6 PM in the youth room. Those going must attend!!! Sunday, March 7th we will meet after church and spend the afternoon going through some training and preparation for the mission trip as well. Lunch will be provided! Complete trip details will be available later this week.
This April we will be having a huge fund-raising opportunity available to cover camp expenses as well as other things. We'll be teaming up with children's ministry to put on a 'church wide' garage sale. Start gathering stuff now! You gets all the funds from what you bring and sell!
Other news; I hope you really enjoyed the movie "To Save a Life". The movie brought up many issues that you all deal with in a very real way! Because of the great response and conversations that came from the movie, beginning March 24th we will start a new study series based on the film . . . which in turn is simply based on a teen's life. I encourage you to read up on the film and what it's all about if you haven't seen it.
That's all the news for now! I'm sure there will be more to come so stay tuned. As always, please fill free to call me for anything! The number is 325-933-0129. Save it, store it, use it!!!
Plug in and get involved! 2/15/2010
It has been great getting to know all of you! I am truly looking forward to the radical year that God has in store for us! Wednesday nights are amazing. They allow a great opportunity for us to dig into the Word together, but what's 2 hours in a week's worth of chaos?! Not much huh? That's why getting involved is so important!
We can sit around upstairs talking about the astonishing things Jesus did thousands of years ago and learn a lot, but nothing compares to getting outside the box to live the love we so often talk about and really experience those astonishing things Jesus is still doing today!
I just want to encourage you today to plug in and get involved! We've got some great opportunities already planned in which you can grow in your relationship with the Lord and with one another! Developing strong friendships within the Body of Christ is essential in our personal growth. Friends come and friends go, but a true friend sticks by you like family. -Proverbs 18:24
Bless you all! See ya Wednesday!
Loran Rule
Hello From Loran and Tiffany! 2/01/2010
Just ten years ago my wife Tiffany and I graduated high school right here in Sweetwater, TX. Little did we know then, that God had us on a journey preparing us to someday return to reach this city for the Kingdom of God. We are so excited to have the honor of serving with EFC and getting to know each and every one of you. As junior and high school students, you are missionaries on one of the greatest and largest mission fields in America; your school campus. You are on the frontlines of a great battle for the hearts and minds of your generation! Together with the gifts and talents that God has given each of us, we will reach this city, this nation, and this world with the life changing love that comes only from Jesus Christ. This is our heart and prayer. We look forward to seeing it fulfilled in and through the youth ministry of EFC.
Gratefully His,

At some point, everybody has to decide: "What's my life going to be about?"
EFC Spring Mission
...taking church to the people.
March 13-19, 2010
Mission Arlington is more a movement than a strategy, more a spirit than a structure, more like a family than an organization. Its not about religion, and it is as much about God as it is about people.
For these reasons, and so many more, Mission Arlington doesnt fit into the customary language of church, nor does it fit into the typical category of social work. God has done something amazing here, and He has done it in His own time and in His own way.

This Spring Break EFC students in grades 6 thru 12 will have the opportunity to serve with Mission Arlington/Mission Metrolplex. Christian students and church groups come from all over to Mission Arlington every year to lead Rainbow Express. This Vacation Bible School program, known as our back yard Bible club, is a week-long event held in multi-housing communities and other locations in and around Arlington. For more information and to obtain a medical release form click the link below.
Starting Wednesday nights March 24th!
It's more than just a movie!
It's time to tear down the walls. To Save A Life is a powerful indie movie about the challenges and choices of real teen life. And it dares to deal with acceptance, hurt, love, social divisions, school violence, cutting, suicide, underage drinking, teen pregnancy and divorce.
But even more, it's the centerpiece of the biggest teen outreach ever. At some point, everybody has to decide: "What's my life going to be about?" To Save A Life brings that question into your world, encouraging you and your friends to answer it with boldness, honesty and compassion.
Join us Wednesday nights at 6:45 PM beginning March 24th as we begin this new study that will reach deep into our daily struggles that hold us back from walking with the Lord to our full potential!

EFC Youth Pastors
A note from Pastor Eric:
Emmanuel Fellowship has been praying for God to send us someone who will pastor our youth with energy and vision. We are so thankful He has answered this prayer!
It is my great joy to (re)welcome Loran and Tiffany Rule, the first youth pastors at Emmanuel Fellowship, back to Sweetwater as our pastors of youth, grades 6-12!
The Rules served here as youth pastors during the churchs early stages, under the leadership of Pastor Yancy Smith. They love Jesus and love youth, and we are looking forward to the life and creativity they will bring to EFC!
Loran also works as a flight paramedic, and Tiffany is a full-time stay at home mom to their two young sons, Jayden and Evan. Tiffany is the daughter of Randy and Rhonda Wilks, founding members of EFC.
The addition of the Rules to the ministry team of EFC positions our congregation to provide vibrant ministry to families from the Nursery to Kids Church through the senior year of high school. We desire to walk along side parents through every stage of family development to help establish a solid spiritual foundation in the lives of their children.
I invite you to connect with Pastor Loran on Facebook, and discover his vision for Youth Ministry in Sweetwater.
We'd love to
hear from you!
